Finnish agricultural trade fair successfully completed
The only agricultural trade fair in Finland in 2020 following the start of the coronavirus pandemic took place from 8 to 10 October in Jyväskylä. The 'Konekilleri' show, which was jointly organised by DLG International GmbH and 2LM Corporate Oy, offered Finnish farmers the opportunity to obtain information about the latest products from the areas of dairy and animal production, crop production, implements, bioenergy, heating with renewable raw materials and agricultural buildings.
In these currently difficult times, it was particularly important to offer the exhibitors and farmers a platform for implementing urgently required investments with a wealth of information. The exhibitors were delighted about the very high quality of the visitors and the investments undertaken by the farms' decision-makers at the trade fair.
The physical range of exhibits was rounded off by a special programme in which local and external speakers provided information concerning the operation and orientation of Finnish agricultural operations.
Amongst other aspects, the total breeding value RZ€ introduced in Germany in 2020 was presented in the context of the Nordic breeding value estimation. The comparison of breeding values on the relative scale of this new breeding value is intended to enable farmers to evaluate and optimise breeding decisions in economic terms.
