19th edition of Opolagra:

The largest open-air exhibition in the South of Poland

From June 7th-9th, 2024, for the 19th time, the largest regional open-air agricultural exhibition in Poland took place near Opole. For three days around 38,000 people visited the stands of 353 exhibitors from 9 countries on an area of 42 ha.

This year's Opolagra was full of interesting attractions for the interested visitors. The most frequented one was certainly the demonstration and rally of old tractors. Over 30 machines from a very well known tractor company, all produced in the last century, participated in the rally. The oldest one was from 1924 which was very impressive.

Another point of interest especially for the younger generation was the meeting with a famous group of youtubers which came for the first time to Opolagra. Their agri channels have a total of over a million subscribers and their most popular videos have millions of clicks. Together with their partners they prepared interesting skill competitions with prizes for the young visitors.

A famous agricultural portal invited people to the virtual world of agri. Everyone interested was invited to try the Farming Simulator. Topics of the simulator were: running an own farm, harvesting crops, breeding animals and developing the farm. The organizers prepared a lot of attractive prizes and Farming Simulator merchandise, which were given to the lucky winners.

Live machinery demonstrations are an indispensable element of every Opolagra. This year, a company presented a range of modern fertilizer and lime spreaders. During the fair, there were also green field demonstrations using a baler, mower, tedder, rake and wrapper.

Once again visitors had the chance to see Opolagra from above. A sightseeing flight over the exhibition grounds and the surrounding area was carried out by a helicopter throughout the duration of the event.

For the second time during this year's Opolagra, the "Agro Champions" plebiscite was resolved in the Opole and Silesian stages. The full list of winners is published by the organizers of the plebiscite, i.e. "Nowa Trybuna Opolska" in the Opole Voivodeship, and "Dziennik Zachodni" in the Silesian Voivodeship.

As part of Opolagra, spot spraying methods were demonstrated using field mapping with a drone is an integral part of ths show. A drone flew over the demonstration area to create an application map that was relayed to a self-propelled sprayer for precise spot spraying. The air assist, pulse width modulation and application rate technologies built into the drone showed how every drop can hit the right spot when spraying. These proven solutions ensure that the farmer can work more precisely and efficiently, achieve a higher level of accuracy and take care of the crop while reducing costs.

Opolagra's long-standing tradition is the animal exhibition and contest. Over 130 dairy and beef cattle were presented. This is always a picturesque competition for young breeders. During the valuation, carried out by a judge from Germany, animals from cooperatives were selected among dairy breeds, which won the super champion titles in the heifers and cows categories.

The next Opolagra in 2025 will take place on June 13-15.
